I have 4 of them in my house and it can see all of them. Though, its ability to communicate with the boxes is buggy.

Great - thanks ... what kind of bugs do you get?
Can you send music? Especially entire album to it?

I'm interested to hear of these experiences also - in what way is the communication with the WDTV problematic?

ghislandi - For movies, it is one at a time (i.e. there is no playlist feature). For music, I have not tried, but I know that when I select my phone as the device to play on, it will continue to play each song in the folder, album, artist, etc. etc. depending on what I chooes. I would assume it works the same way when you select WD as your player.
Conal - I've only ever tried using it with short home movies that were on my phone. I found that I would have to select a file multiple times to get it to start playing on the WD. I am not sure if this is an issue with the WD itself or Skifta. Often times, when I have the WD on, Skifta says that it is currently in use. I am not sure if there is a particular mode the WD is supposed to be in to accept incoming DLNA requests. At any rate, the WDs are on the same network as my media drive so I don't typically have a need for skifta if I want to play media from one of the media players.

Excellent - thanks for answering ghislandi's point and for relaying your experiences with the WDTV.
If you do wish to analyse the home movies, I'd probably look at file size and codecs to see if those are delaying the start of the media stream being played. The chances are that the unit has received the command to 'play' but is taking time to start the stream -- this is why my experience of WDTV has been marked as 'fair' in the past. -

Ok I got the WD Live TV and it seems to work.
I am using for audio only as I have always used PS3 for streaming to the TV.Audio works well and it seems to be able to play entire album (although in a couple of albums it stopped after 4 songs and then i had to choose another song ...)

For those songs that it fails on - take a look at the mp3 file encoding. I've found some badly encoded Mp3s also cause itunes to crash and vlc. In those instances it's files that have bad header information, or the files are truncated or have a portion corrupted or are misreporting their length.
