Hi,
I think it was sometimes ago already asked but never answered: How can I manage my places and remove entries.
My account shows 3 phones like "xxx's phone", "xxx's phone 1" and "xxx's phone 2", but I'm using only one Android phone, so I guest Skifta thinks it's a new phone when flashing an updated firmware (I have done it 2 times so the 2 duplicates).
So it is anoying and I would like to be able to remove 2 of the 3.

At the moment, subscribers don't have the ability to modify their places. I think this is a good feature to add and it's been requested via forums and OTRS, so I've requested it over at http://forums.skifta.com/topic/skifta-wish-list
Especially for you, I've modified your places so that you only have phone2 (your current phone). Be aware that if you delete your Skifta cache on your memory card, you'll lose your current association. A subsequent place will be created for you, called 'phone 3'.

Thank you, but could you also remove the phone2. Because my sdcard went dead, so I get a new one ; and as you stated, if I will connect without the cache on the sdcard, Skifta will create a another place.

Now... I can only do that by deleting your user.. the rules state that you have to have at least one place against a user.
OR - If you can connect up with your new device sdcard, it will create 'Emmanuel's phone 3', and I can delete 'Emmanuel's phone 2'.
So - do I delete the user for you to recreate everything from scratch, or do I wait until you've reconnected?

Hi.
I am also having this problem. I installed the app on a friend's phone to check the streaming capabilities from another wifi network (no luck). Now, the phone is showing up in my connections as phone1. Can this please be deleted? Your services shows great promise, but there are apparently a few kinks that need to be worked out. (sometimes I have to reboot in order to get the local and remote connections to show).

I removed your devices from the list. A new place will be created next time you log in.
BTW - that reboot for connections you mentioned, it's down to the handset manufacturers implementation.. you'll see a different experience on a different device so there's little we can do about that I'm afraid :-(

Hello,
I have a similar problem but it's a bit different from theirs. I installed Skifta on my pc but it wouldn't open so I uninstalled it and installed it again but it won't let me use the same location name as before so I would like to delete the previous location (GHASSAN-VAIO) so I can use it again.

Thanks a lot but wouldn't it be easier for you if you just give everyone the ability to do it themselves?
That feature used to be present - it's not there currently. It might reappear - keep watching the product updates thread - you can subscribe to it to be notified when we add new features.

Hi, I've been trying out Skifta on and off for a few days now and got the home wifi to play nice with my phone on 3g and this is just fantastic! I too have aquired several different names for my phone, and pc cause I didn't first use the name I wanted (on pc). It would be nice to be able to clear the crap names out, not super important but whatever. Phones name doesn't even match between what I see here on my server screen and what the phone calls itself? I'm sure not important though.
Was wondering, so is what you're saying that every time I clear my cache on my phone I'll generate a new name? I have 2 util that I know of on my phone(a Droid phone) to clear cache, History Eraser and Link2sd and I think it's all or nothing for clearing cache, how to just keep Skiftas, easily anyway? Also for pc (Win7) the same like with CrapCleaner? Maybe there are files in either device I could back up and then replace? Thanks for this cool app anyway!
turn on all the devices you use for Skifta and have Skifta running.
Login to http://www.skifta.com and click 'my connections'.
All your active devices will be shown there.
Take a screen shot showing all the inactive devices. Send it to support@skifta.com along with the text please remove my unused places, and I'll remove them for you.
Everytime you reinstall Skifta it will create you a new place so that is why you have ended up with lots of redundant places.

Please remove my old one as well? There's only two and the current one is functioning but it's trying to connect to the previous one that is not functioning.

I saw that you deleted the place but when I install software on the PC skifta appears that says "Place already exists. The place name you are using already exists in your account. Please try again a different place name." How do you solve?

I noticed that if you reuse the same places before me that are in use and I can not install the software skifta but if I enter a new place you install the software.
Ok all - if you send a mail to support@skifta.com telling us the places to remove, we will have that addressed for you.
you must keep at least '1' place though, otherwise we'd be required to delete your account so that you can recreate everything from scratch.
