Installed this app on HTC Desire S a few days ago and worked perfectly. Could see all my videos, music and photos. Now I can only see Music media sources and no longer have options for Video and Photos. HAve checked settings and options for Videos and Photos and selected. Have cleared cache, deleted Skifta folder in root directory of Sim and reinstalled the app, but nothing seems to work. Music however plays fine, but cant see movies or videos. How can I resolve this

Whats the media server you're using?
The device, or a pc? -

I am using the device as the media server.

Hmmm - that's very odd.
The thing is, Skifta is using your Android media library, so it sounds like something has happened to that. It's not a skifta component, but we have seen users have issues with that previously. For instance, I recall, Google had a bug registered against them that certain version of ID3 tags were not supported and caused an issue with that media db app.My recommendations:
1) Clear your media storage, this will clear ALL media including photos:
Settings > Manage Applications > Media Storage > Clear Data
Force an SD media rescan. you can do this by rebooting the device, or by using the free application 'SD Rescan'. I'd suggest doing both.2) check to see if you have added any 'new' files that have unusual characters in the filename for videos or images. Move them off the device. Do another rescan. Attempt the operation again.
3) Move all but a select few photos and videos off of the device and force a rescan. Attempt the operation again.
In the case of my Samsung Galaxy, the only way to clear out my corrupted media library was to reset the device.. you're probably not keen to do that, so let me know how you get on with the above steps.

Thanks. Finally seeing all the media options from the HTC now. Had to do all the options upto number 3 (fortunately didnt have to reset). Now seen that have similar problem when I switch media server to a DLNA connected hard drive on my home network. Initially could see all options, but now only seeing music folders. No options for videos or photos again. The Hard drive is a Western Digital MyBookworld 1TB. Not sure if we can do anything with this issue?

Which media server are you running on the Digital MyBookworld 1TB?

The drive comes with a Twonky UPnP media server preinstalled.

I've been reading through some articles about that drive this morning to find out how to configure twonky - you don't list which version you have pre-installed on that drive but in any case this should be accessible via the NAS admin interface.
You can also install to a later version which is handy.
In any case -
1) can you try another media browser (maybe XBMC browsing via UPNP or WMP) to test if the content shows up on the NAS. This will demonstrate if it is a skifta issue or a media server issue.2) can you check the twonky configuration from the NAS interface to make sure that media server is set up for those two content categories?
Thanks
