I am using a Motorola Xoom tablet and the devices im trying to use are not listed in the section where I need to "choose a player". I have uninstalled and reinstalled but still get the same issue. The devices are an LG LED TV and a Samsung Blu Ray player. What can I do?

No Devices Listed On Network

Things to check:
1) Are these devices all on the same subnet?
2) The handset is connected via a wifi connection - are the other devices wired? If so, you'll need to check that your network is allowing multicast UPNP traffic between the wired and wireless subnets - check your settings.
3) Do these devices broadcast themselves as renderers on the network, or are they similar to the playstation 3, whereby you have to browse 'from' the device to check for media servers on the network? A good test of this would be to use the feature 'play on unlisted player' in Skifta, and then use either the television or the bluray player and browse for the Skifta source on your handset.. or check the manual ;-)That's probably the first few steps to check. Let us know how you get on!

Same problem here. Did this get resolved? I haven't checked these details yet.

Check those stages listed above - and if you fail to see any devices, try clearing your bundles:
Home > Settings > Applications > manage applications > Skifta > Force stop
Open a file manager program, such as 'astro' from the market place.
Browse to the root of your SD card and delete the directory 'skifta'.
Restart your device. restart skifta.let me know how you get on.

Ok so the subnet was different. I changed them to match. uPNP is enabled. After verifying this i cleared the bundles as you suggested. It still doesn't work. I have one wired PC, one wifi xoom tablet and a couple wifi android phones. When i use the tablet i can only see the tablet to play on. Same with the phones. Any other suggestions?

Ok - you're trying to find a renderer other than 'this' device to play on, correct?
1) For the PC: Whats the Media server and Operating system? Lots of information in these forums for diagnosing your UPNP connectivity to you media server.
2) For your devices: What media renderer software are you running on your 'other' devices? Skifta is not a renderer for anyone other than 'this' user, for the obvious reasons that it is acting as a controller / UPNP is multicast.. you'd need to specifically install a renderer on your other devices, such as bubbleupnp.Let me know if that assists you.

The PC is Win 7. I have tried win media player and xbmc. I also set up a server with skifta. In installed bubbleupnp on both the tablet (xoom) and phone (galaxy s). I can see all my devices as choices for sources but only one device in the play to selection. I have tried replacing bundles on all devices. Still not working. Thanks for your help.

Ok - so, you can see 'all' your devices as sources.
This means UPNP is working correctly.
Skifta will not act as a DMR on your device - so it will not act as a renderer, only a media source as you have now demonstrated. On the devices you wish to render to, you must exit skifta (if you wish to be completely sure you have closed it, settings > applications > manage applications > Skifta > force close).
Download a rendering program - you say that you have downloaded bubble upnp, so set that up to be a renderer (this is outside of the scope of our support).
You've demonstrated that Skifta is acting as a source and communicating via UPNP with your other devices, so once you sort out a renderer for those other handsets / tablets, you'll be able to use them as a player.
Finally - there's a nice video here that demonstrates how to set up windows 7 machines correctly: http://howto.cnet.com/8301-11310_39-20077603-285/how-to-stream-music-from-your-pc-to-android-remotely/

Well i now have everything working the way i want. Umfortunately (for you), it is all done with bubble upnp. The beta version 1.3 allows for both local media servers and remote control of renderers. Even with all this working, skifta still could not see the renderer targets. Not sure what is up with that but other than remote access I have what i want so please delete my account. Thanks for your help.
